ONSITE DEVELOPMENT METHOD

Under the Onsite Delivery Model the service providers position their skilled personnel on the client’s site who work in continuous interaction with the client’s team for the entire period ranging between the point of collecting information to its implementation as well as its maintenance and support. The only difference between the customer’s normal working model and the onsite model is that the client’s task is accomplished by a team of outsiders i.e. service providers working within the same premises as the other employees of the client.

Onsite Delivery Model is usually adopted where the scope of the project is repetitive and open-ended as is the case with most of the process re-engineering related services. Also where the client is not very clear regarding the end results required by them or where there is a possibility of fluctuating requirements during the course of the project, Onsite is a preferred delivery model. In some cases where direct and continuous client participation and interaction is desired after each and every step involved like getting the approval of the client’s team after each stage of project this is the only model which fulfills this need. If the client wants to upgrade their existing system and migrate to the latest technology then in such cases also the onsite model is preferable, if the client is able to afford the changes that will be required in their existing set-up to accommodate the service provider’s onsite team. Onsite Model is the best for short-term projects.

Today Security is a major concern for lot of mission critical applications, client will require a project to be completely developed/delivered on-site.

This model is ideal when:

  • The customer has other concerns about the security of information is confidential and proprietary
  • Face-to-face dealings with the client, some times continuous interaction with the consultant becomes necessary to have a clear understanding of what the client is expecting from them and also of the end results desired by the client.
  • The scope has not been defined in detail
  • The scope may undergo a number of changes
  • The deliverables or the requirements can change dynamically
  • Timelines are aggressive
  • For the clients, time-to market involved in this model is less

AMSOL’s Approach.

In these cases, AMSOL shall provide subject matter experts dedicated resources with a proven track record. Our mature process for scaling resources will allow, for flexibility of effort in the project development. Project management for an on-site project is client-directed. Under certain circumstances, we can provide complimentary offshore support to speed up project delivery and serve as backup.

Advantages of Onsite Delivery Model

  • Responsiveness to changes in client’s requirements is faster and under direct supervision of the client.
  • The client has complete control on the development process of the project.
  • This improves all processes of project development that requires continuity as well as allows iterative usage of that particular onsite development unit.
  • The dedicated team will work within predefined processes and being involved in the client work atmosphere.

OFFSHORE DEVELOPMENT METHOD

Offshore delivery model is the best one if you need one-time project to be developed. This model reduces the cost of hardware resources required and also offers several other cost savings. Offsite development facilitates need-based allocation of resources to the project (resource loading will vary based on the requirement at each stage of the project). This model may not have as much user interaction as in the Onsite model but definitely is more economical. This model is useful when you should have defined straight goals for the final product.

In the Offsite Development scenario, clients may not be required to provide development and production environments. There may be a need for the customer to visit with the development team or the team's managers for greater efficiency.

This model is ideal when:

  • The scope has been defined in detail
  • The scope will not undergo any more changes once the requirements are agreed upon
  • Timelines are aggressive

Our Methodology:

Our team meets with the customer team to work out the details of the engagement. The project scope, deliverables, screen layouts, reporting, functionality issues, timelines, etc. are all be defined in detail. A small mockup of the actual application may also be developed during this phase to understand the look-and-feel of the end product.

After the definition phase, work moves to AMSOL facility. Deliverables and other progress reports will be made available to the customer at pre-agreed intervals. The customer, if they choose, can be provided remote access into the development server via a VPN or some other secure means. By accessing the development server remotely, the customer can monitor progress in real time, and maintain overall control even though work is being carried out offsite ensuring the client of implementation and maintenance.

Advantages of Offsite Delivery Model:

  • Responsiveness to changes in client’s requirements is faster on account of the offsite center.
  • Clients get all the advantages of offsite delivery model (Labour cost and infrastructure cost).
  • The client has control on the development process up to a certain limit.
  • This improves all processes of project development that requires continuity as well as allows iterative usage of that particular offshore development unit.
  • The dedicated team will work within predefined processes

ONSITE-OFFSITE DEVELOPMENT METHOD

Under the Onsite-Offsite Delivery Model the service providers position their skilled personnel on the client’s site who work in continuous interaction with the client’s team for the entire period ranging between the point of collecting information to its implementation as well as its maintenance and support and also all along have a team of specific subject matter experts near the client’s vicinity to work in tandem with the onsite team of the service providers. The only difference between the customer’s normal working model is that the client’s task is accomplished by a team of outsiders who work in team as the other employees of the client. This will prove beneficial to the client as well as to the service provider as the service provider will have a better understanding of the client’s need resulting from the fact of having an almost similar background as far as the geographical factor is concerned.

This model enables the client and service provider to have a face-to-face interaction on a regular basis, which will be advantageous to both of them. Onsite-Offsite Model is the best for short and long term projects having non-confined requirements and open-ended.

This model is ideal when

  • The scope is open-ended and undefined requirements.
  • Priorities of the project are not well defined.
  • The scope will undergo changes repetitively.
  • Timelines are not a constraint.

AMSOL’s approach

Our team meets with the client’s team to workout the details of the project. The project scope, deliverables, screen layouts, reporting, functionality issues, timelines, etc. are all be defined in detail. A small mockup of the actual application may also be developed during this phase to understand the look-and-feel of the end product.

After the definition phase, work is initiated with a subject expert team (onsite team) being placed at client’s place and a part subject expert team being placed in AMSOL facility. This will enable every phase of the project being under supervision and control of the client and strict to the project guidelines being regularly monitoring by the client and AMSOL.

Advantages of Onsite-Offsite Delivery Model

  • Face-to-face dealings with the client: Continuous interaction with the client is possible which enables the service provider to have a clear understanding of what the client is expecting from them and also of the end results desired by the client.
  • On Hand Information: The service provider can obtain first hand information by understanding the scenario existing at the client’s place.
  • No chance of communication gap.
  • The number of changes required in the output provided by the service provider will almost be negligible.

ONSITE-OFFSHORE DEVELOPMENT METHOD

In today's business world of shrinking staffs and budgets, IT management is often about strategically allocating limited resources and improving efficiency so that you can do more with less. Our Offshore Development Model have proven the effectiveness at the world's leading IT organizations and identified how to implement them on the complex software solutions. Today, interest in offshore services runs high. Large multi-national companies deliver solutions using offshore centers to cut their costs by more than 50% and at the same time reduce their delivery cycle and increase the quality of their products. However, many enterprises, especially the small to medium sized ones, are being left behind without the benefits that arise from leveraging upon offshore solutions delivery.

Large companies have made significant investments in offshore infrastructures themselves, or have invested heavily in direct long term relationships with the large offshore service providers. In addition, these large companies have dedicated resources locally to manage the offshore relationships and thereby extract the best value from their offshore engagements. These large companies, which are the early adopters of offshore solutions, tie up most of the bandwidth, and the management attention of the large offshore service providers, with high-dollar commitments.

Small to medium sized companies will not find it economically feasible either to set up their own offshore infrastructures or to invest heavily in a relationship directly with large offshore service providers.

AMSOL focuses on helping these small and medium sized companies maximize the benefit they can get from offshore solutions delivery, while at the same time minimizing the risks and investments associated with it.

AMSOL Outsourcing, Applications Development, Product Development, and Quality Engineering lend themselves well for a blended model with significant Offshore components, there by quickly delivering value in terms of cost reduction, quicker delivery, and improved quality.

We make it very easy for you to benefit from offshore solutions delivery through our Customer Friendly Engagement process.
